Each day, when you are not taking advantage of the therapeutic healing modalities available to you at the retreat site, you will have time to explore a variety of activities that is offered right there at Gulf Shores State Park.
Whether you want to take a relaxing stroll or to get your heart pumping, the Alabama Gulf Coast is a hiker’s paradise. You might even spot an alligator basking in the sun, a white-tailed deer grazing on foliage, a pod of dolphins jumping through the waves or some migratory birds fluttering from tree to tree.

Experience paddleboarding, biking, bird watching, walking or hiking over our state parks' 6000-acre nature preservatory with beautiful trails chocked full of interesting sites.
There are several wonderful restaurants located in beautiful settings throughout the park, including secluded dining in a wooded setting or on the beach.
And speaking fo the beach, let's not forget our sugar white beaches and more. Our team is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment that helps you recharge and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.

While we will provide plenty of opportunity for you to take advantage of our many therapeutic healing modalities (included), you will also have the free time to explore the park and enjoy the beach.
Our goal is for you to restore in nature while gaining tools to continue the healing process and to activate your own divinely placed ability to balance and heal your and your families bodies.
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
Explore the park’s three freshwater lakes by kayaking or paddleboarding, providing a peaceful way to connect with nature and enjoy the surrounding wildlife.
Fishing At Lake Shelby
Experience unique fishing opportunities at Lake Shelby, where freshwater and saltwater fish coexist. It’s a perfect activity for relaxation and engagement with the natural environment. (Note: A freshwater fishing license is required.)
Hiking & Cycling On The S.Branyon Backcountry Trail
Encourage participants to explore the diverse landscapes of Gulf State Park by hiking or cycling on this extensive trail system, offering a mix of scenic views and encounters with local wildlife.
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge
Nature enthusiasts can visit the nearby Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge for birdwatching and observing local fauna in their natural habitats.
Public Beaches
Participants can unwind at the beautiful public beaches within Gulf State Park, perfect for soaking up the sun, swimming, or simply enjoying the calming sounds of the ocean.
Accommodation For The Wellness Retreat
Participants will stay in the new Bunkhouse at The Learning Campus, offering a cozy and convenient environment perfect for relaxation and planning activities.
The Bunkhouse features comfortable sitting areas and spacious meeting spaces, ideal for group discussions and wellness sessions.

Sleeping Arrangements
Two Sleeping Cabins: Each cabin houses up to 64 participants, with 32 beds (16 bunk beds) per cabin.
Private Facilities
Each cabin includes four individual bathrooms and showers, plus complimentary laundry facilities.
Dining & Common Areas
A residential kitchen and dining area are available, allowing participants to prepare snacks and meals within their living quarters.
This setup ensures that everyone can comfortably meet, rest, and enjoy meals together, all while staying on the serene grounds of Gulf State Park.
